1. Terms of delivery – wristwatches and pocket watches

1. Scope of application

These terms apply to transactions between Longitudi Oy and the Customer when the Customer purchases wristwatches or pocket watches from Longitudi Oy’s online store.

2. Time and method of delivery

The delivery time for vintage wristwatches and pocket watches to Finland is 2 to –5 working days. Exceptions to the delivery time may occur if the order is placed during a holiday period. In these cases, the delivery time is agreed separately.

Watch orders are delivered primarily as trackable packages.

Watches outside fo Finland are delivered always by courier (TNT/FedEx etc.). Courier cost is always agreed on separately.  Costs incurred will not be refunded, if buyer decides to use right of return.

Customer may also pick up the products they have purchased directly from Longitudi store, located at Korkeavuorenkatu 3, Helsinki.

3. Payment methods

When using Longitudi Oy’s online store, payments are made via the Checkout-fi service, using either a bank transfer or an invoice. The payment is made when placing the order. When visiting the store, you can also pay with a credit or debit card or cash up to 5000€. All our watches and other antique items are subject to margin scheme taxation. In margin scheme taxation, the price does not include deductible tax. (Value Added Tax Act, Article 79 a; EU Council Directive 2006/112/EC).

4. Delivery costs

We deliver wristwatches and pocket watches by mail free of charge in Finland.

Delivery outside Finland is charged by actual cost. The delivery costs for antique clocks, globes and instruments are always agreed separately on a case-by-case basis.

5. Right of cancellation and product returns

Consumer customers have the right of return for orders placed in Longitudi website. If customer chooses to use this right he/she must be inform Longitudi about it within 14 days from day that item have arrived. This notice must can be made by phone or by e-mail. All necessary contact information can be found in Longitudi website footer (bottom of page). The right of cancellation does not apply to companies or corporations.

Products ordered to Finland must be returned within this period of time via mail or by bringing the product back to our store in person. Purchase outside Finland must be returned in same manner and in same condition as they were delivered. Delivery costs belong to sender and Longitudi will not refund them.

The returned product must be in same condition as when it was sent. You may examine the watch in the same way as you would at our store, but you may not actually put it to use. If the watch has been used or is in poorer condition than when it was sent, or if the case back of the watch has been opened, the customer will lose their right to cancel the transaction. Longitudi Oy has ways of seeing if the watch has been used or opened during the cancellation period. Once we have confirmed that the watch is in flawless condition, we will refund the purchase price to the customer. We always send instructions for customer returns, with the watch.

6. Exceptions to the right of cancellation

If the customer has made any special requests regarding the structure or surface treatment of the watch or has requested modifications to the watch they have purchased, they will lose their right of cancellation. If the watch has been used or is in poorer condition than when it was sent, or if the case back of the watch has been opened, the customer will lose their right of cancellation. This limitation is based on Chapter 6, Section 16, Point 3 of the Consumer Protection Act.

7. Watch condition and complaints

The customer should go through the item photos and description carefully, before making the purchase. Photos are always part of descripion. If the watch has exceptionally large marks or if the watch must be handled with special care, this will be mentioned in the description of the watch.

When making the purchase, the customer accepts that the watches sold by Longitudi Oy are often at least 20 to 30 years old, and their condition is thus not equivalent to that of similar new watches. Their operation is also dependent on the age and proper handling of the watch. Our watches have often been in use for a long time and show signs of wear because of it. The watches are not as accurate as similar new watches, and there are often limitations to their use regarding e.g. their mechanical operation or resistance to water.

The service guarantee that we provide for our watches is personal and may not be transferred to others without the consent of Longitudi Oy.

8. Customer register

The names and contact information of Longitudi Oy’ online store’ customers are recorded in Longitudi Oy’ customer register. The information in the register is used in the way described in our privacy policy. You may also ask Longitudi Oy customer service for a copy of the privacy policy. The customer has the right to inspect the data concerning them, stored in the register.

Consumer customers also have the right to prohibit the use of their personal data for direct marketing purposes.

9. Intellectual property rights

Longitudi Oy holds the intellectual property rights to the images and texts displayed on its website and in the materials delivered to customers, unless otherwise stated therein.

10. Other applicable conditions

In addition to these terms and conditions, the online store is subject to the processing instructions and warranty terms provided separately by Longitudi Oy.
Individual products may be subject to special conditions. These special conditions are mentioned in the online store’s description of the product.

We always try to keep the stock status of our online store up-to-date. However, if we have already sold a certain item and have not yet updated its status to the online store before another customer purchases the same item via the online store, we will refund this customer’s purchase immediately. Longitudi Oy does not compensate the customer for any indirect or direct costs caused by the unfulfilled transaction.

11. Validity

These terms of agreement are valid until further notice. Longitudi Oy reserves the right to change these terms of agreement. Any changes to the terms of agreement will be announced on the Longitudi Oy website.

12. Applicable law and disputes

This agreement is governed by Finnish law. Any disputes will be resolved in the Helsinki District Court. The consumer also has the right to institute proceedings at the general court of first instance of their municipality of residence or to refer the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board.


2. Terms of delivery – antique clocks

Purchasing antique clocks

Customer can purchase antique clocks or globes through our online store, but these must be collected at our store or request special delivery. The delivery of antique clocks is always subject to a charge. Longitudi is not responsible for the transport insurance of antique clocks; the customer must take an insurance out themselves if they so wish.

The delivery time for antique clocks is always agreed on separately. If the purchased antique clock has not yet been restored, we will deliver it only after all service/restoration has been completed.
