OMEGA SPEEDMASTER GEMINI-IV

Rare Omega Speedmaster Professional Gemini IV from 2005. Ref. 3565.80. Sold to Finland. Full-set with all box and papers. Limited edition no.1224/2005. Like-new condition.

Watch has flawless blue-white panda dial with red inscription 1965-2005. Rhodium plated hands and Hesalite glass. Omega cal. 1861 movement is tested and it is running to its official specs. Steel case and bracelet are in excellent condition. Case diameter is 42mm.

Watch has 12-month service warranty.

GEMINI IV

Gemini-4 mission in 1965 was second manned spaceflight by NASA. During that flight astronaut Edward “Ed” White made history as first american astronaut to make spacewalk. During that walk he used two Omega Speedmaster 105.003 watches. NASA had approved Omega Speedmaster to be used on all manned spaceflights and this was also first time that watch was tested outside of flightmodule. Second astronaut in board was James McDivitt who was later appointed to a Commander of Apollo 9 mission.

Omega introduced this Gemini-4 Speedmaster in 2005. With this model Omega celebrated that first spacewalk 40 years earlier. Total of 2005 pcs. of Gemini-4 model were manufactured, with their own set of box and certificates. Among with blue panda-dial this model stood out from basic Speedmaster models by red Gemini-4 caseback painting with inscription:  “First space walk, McDivitt, White“.  Also, steel caseback edge has engraving: First space walk 40th anniversary.
